Imagine your entire life confined to the walls of an orphanage.  Denied the love and support of a family, perhaps since birth, you competed for food, clothing, comfort, and especially… attention.  Imagine you watched, year after year, as others around you were adopted into loving homes while you were passed over, to simply become older and less likely to be chosen.  Imagine you waited and waited, until your chance of joining a family had disintegrated.  Imagine you lost all hope of a family’s love. 

Now, imagine that you have lived your life in an orphanage and are now a teenager.  Your time at the orphanage is coming to an end and you must leave.  You must go forward, into the world, without even the shelter and daily support of the orphanage to sustain you.  You must find work, shelter, food.  Imagine that you will be quickly identified as an “easy mark” for predators eager to take advantage of you.  Your future may lead to theft to survive.  Crime.  Drugs. Living on the streets. With no family, no support, no protection, your future seems completely without hope. 

The goal of Orphan Hope Market is to provide that hope.  Through vocational training, we help to build futures.  We train older orphans to enable them to compete in a fiercely competitive job market, despite their lack of family.  We help subsidize housing and living expenses while seeking employment.  We offer self-sufficiency and a future.  We offer hope.
